When custom GPT’s don’t cooperate

My latest video is about the challenges of creating custom GPT’s:

When your own custom GPT won’t behave video

Like so many people, I was intrigued by the possibility of creating custom GPT’s when they were announced at the OpenAI DevDays conference. The web interface walks you through the process, asking questions as you go along, though on the video you can see sometimes it doesn’t wait for your answers.

My goal was to build a GPT that had a copy of my book Mockito Made Clear embedded in it, along with a series of related blog posts I made on Medium. Even with all that, however, and even with explicit instructions to favor the embedded information over its training set, it still has a tendency to go its own way.

Still, it was fun to see how the process worked, and I learned that the Configure tab is everything. I also embedded a coupon code into the GPT, so if you ask it about discounts it should give you one. 🙂

If you are able to access GPT’s, my Mockito Mentor is located here. Enjoy!
